Southside Child Development Center was founded in 1992 with the sole purpose of providing high quality child care for families in the Baton Rouge community and surrounding areas. One year after we opened our doors, we received the letter from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), stating that we earned National Accreditation. We remained Nationally Accredited from 1993-2006, at which point we transitioned to the Louisiana Quality Star Child Care Rating System because of the benefits offered to our parents through the state. Southside has been awarded 4, out of a possible 5 stars from the Quality Star Program. Southside has approximately 60 children enrolled. It is classified as a medium size child care center.
